Product Development Process
During the product development process, we evaluate environmental impact before commercializing products.
In constructing a sustainable society, the development of products without environmental load is considered an important issue. New products in development are evaluated regarding their environmental impact for energy saving, compactness, light weight, recyclability, chemical content and so on; eco-friendly product development which reduces the environmental load is in progress.
In addition, we also focus on developing products which contribute to social environmental undertakings such as electric vehicles and photovoltaic power generation.
Environmentally Friendly Design

Green Fit certified products
We certify products meeting our environmental standards as "Green Fit". Products certified as Green Fit have realized environmental load reduction through themes such as compactness, lightening, resource saving, recyclability rate improvement, elimination of environmentally contaminated substances, etc.
Green Support certified products
We certify products that are directly or indirectly involved in related businesses such as energy saving and CO2 emissions reduction with consideration for the global environment as "Green Support". Products certified as Green Support have supported environmental load reduction through businesses such as ZEB, energy-efficient residence, Photovoltaic power generation, and Electric vehicles.
Green Procurement Activities
Interest in low environmental load initiatives, globally eco-friendly products, and toxic chemical content is increasing yearly.
NITTO KOGYO has compiled "Green Procurement Guidelines" indicating our basic stance on environmental initiatives and requesting cooperation from our business partners, aiming at ever greater customer satisfaction.
In addition, along with switching to materials compliant with the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) Directive, we are working with our partners to decrease wastes and reduce environmental loads in shipping, such as eliminating idling and rationalize shipping routes.
