Fluorocarbons Emission Restraining Law
Act on Rational Use and Proper Management of Fuorocarbons (Fluorocarbons Emission Restraining Law in short) came into force on April 1, 2015. The act aims to restrain fluorocarbon emissions, which are the known cause of the ozone layer destruction and global warming, and protect the wholesome and cultured living of the existing and future Japanese citizens as well as to make a contribution to the welfare of mankind.
The following three legal obligations are provided by the act:
- Obligations concerning installation of equipment using fluorocarbons
- Obligations concerning usage of equipment using fluorocarbons
- Obligations concerning disposal of equipment using fluorocarbons
Those who fail to observe the obligations face imprisonment up to 1 year or a fine up to 500,000 yen.
