Spark Discharge Detection Device contributes to prevention of electrical fires by detecting spark discharge occurrences and raising the alarm.

  • No electrical work is required for use.
  • It detects spark discharges occurring not only at places in sight but also at electrical circuits in hidden places.
  • It notifies occurrence of spark discharges by alarm sound, LED lighting and contact output.

LED indicator

Alarm sound

Alarm sound goes off at spark discharge detection, device failure or abnormal voltage drop.
Volume: Selectable between Mute and Unmute (Default setting is Unmute.)

LED lighting

Solid Green: Normal state (powered)
Blinking Green: Abnormal state (voltage drop)
Solid amber: Abnormal state (device failure)
Solid Red: Alarm (A spark discharge is being detected.)
Blinking Red: History (Spark discharges had been detected and detection ceased.)
The number of blinks indicates how many times the device detected spark discharges. (up to 5 times) (*2)

Cautionary note

  1. The device is intended for the purpose of detecting spark discharge occurrence. It does not prevent spark discharges from occurring or does not ensure fires are prevented beforehand.
  2. The device is applicable to A-type wall outlets only.
  3. The device is designed for 100V and is not applicable to other voltage systems.
  4. The device does not detect fires due to contact between electrical appliances and combustibles.
  5. The device does not detect heat caused by faulty electrical work (e.g. loose terminal connection) and/or overload.
  6. Detection distance may be reduced because spark discharge noise level may attenuates depending on the circuit conditions (e.g. the number of branches and loads).
  7. Detection distance may be reduced when SPDs and/or noise filters exist in the circuits.
  8. The device is designed for detecting the electrical noise accompanying spark discharge occurrence. It may detect other high-frequency noises that are similar to spark discharge noise and raise false alarm.
  9. The device detects spark discharges only occurring at the branch it is connected to.
